Marpol Waste Facilities
The Marpol Convention of 1973/78 is concerned with the prevention of pollution from ships, and is controlled and monitored by the International Maritime Organisation. All countries or 'parties' that have signed into Marpol have, by law, to carryout compliance inspections to visiting vessels and to provide the facility for vessels to dispose of their waste materials that have accumulated on voyage. In some instances this involves the setting up of shore side facilities to accept and process the waste.
Whatever the Marpol requirement, from initial conception to design build and operate, including all your staff training, DV. Howells can provide assistance. Currently Braemar Howells has consultants providing technical support with the introduction of Marpol to port authorities in West Africa and the Middle East.
