Braemar Howells Signs Hazmat Response Agreement With Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

Braemar Howells today signed an innovative agreement to provide Hazmat Response Support to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service on a 12 month pilot basis.
Under the new agreement, Braemar Howells will base one its new Hazmat Response Vehicles at Merseyside's Brombough Fire Station.
Signing the new agreement at this year's Emergency Services Show, Simon Valentine, Specialist Business Solutions Manager for Braemar Howells, said "This unique agreement will bring the Emergency Phase of an Incident and the Recovery Phase of an incident much closer together. Having our Hazmat Unit close at hand will reduce the time incidents take to be made safe and will result in less disruption such as road closures and area exclusion times will be reduced".
John McCormack, Director of Performance and Values for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said, "This pilot is about providing further help to businesses following an emergeny incident involving hazardous materials which will assist them to recover and return to normality as quickly as possible".

Unveilled at the successful Emergency Services Show, Braemar Howells Hazmat Response Units carry a range of specialit equipment including two chemical transfer pumps, full road tanker rollover kit and several salvage drums. Each unit is also equipped with a Command Centre comprising of weather station, full internet access and Chemdata©.
Simon Rickaby, Managing Director of Braemar Howells, says "This is a formidable Hazmat Response Unit and we are delighted to be able to make it available to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service."
